Dear Mr P Kearney & Ms Ursula Staske-Lewis
Single Investment Fund (SIF)
Thank you for your application for Single Investment Fund support, which was received in our offices on 5th January 2010, seeking assistance towards establishing an administration centre for your company, which delivers training within the food sector.
We have considered your application carefully and have also researched other businesses in which you have been involved. We also noted that Ms Ursula Staske-Lewis also goes by the name Ursula Seigrid Hartland.
Our research has identified that you have been directors of the following companies that are in liquidation:
Aspire Food Industry Solutions Ltd – Peter Kearney shown as a director.
Powermover Ltd – Ursula Seigrid Hartland shown as a director (and Peter Kearney shown as company secretary).
Trawlers UK Ltd – Ursula Seigrid Hartland shown as a director (and Peter Kearney shown as company secretary).
The application for SIF support (main form) includes at section 6 (declaration and understanding) a requirement to declare whether any director has ever been a director of a business subject to any formal insolvency procedure such as a receivership, liquidation or administration or subject to an arrangement with its creditors.
You have marked the ‘no’ box in relation to this question on the form that you signed on 4th December 2009 and you have failed to provide the required details of these businesses and the circumstances that led to the liquidations.
In these circumstances we will not be able to consider your application any further and your request for SIF support is rejected.
Given this rejection, we have not contacted your bank.
I would be grateful if you would explain why you did not declare your involvement in these liquidated businesses.
Yours sincerely
Jane Sibley
